Eating well in Hamburg! The ZEIK was and is a very special house number of the good restaurants the Hanseatic city of Hamburg. Even in the era of founder Axel Henkel, it was one of Hamburg’s good restaurants. The young chef Maurizio Oster ventured into this project a few years ago and began to redesign and rebuild the ZEIK Restaurant Winterhude ambitiously, independently and entirely according to his demands for a relaxed fine dining atmosphere.
When we in Hamburg say that we are “Nordic by nature”, we are referring to a very specific trait that has often earned us Hamburgers the attribute “cool” in recent decades. Wrongly so, actually – because we northern Germans radiate devotion and warmth in our very own way. A long drawn-out ‘Jooo’ can mean the world, even turn it upside down and point the way forward! Don’t you think so? But it really is!
